If you’re making modifications to a current resume, then make sure you update your work history with your latest position and any new certificates or other qualifications you may have acquired. Chances are you developed new skills at your last job, so add them on as well.
Spelling mistakes, missing punctuation, and other errors make a resume appear shabby and unprofessional. Microsoft Word has spell check and grammar check functions, so make sure you use them. You may also want to recruit a friend or family member to proofread your resume.

If you’re applying for a broad range of job categories, then you may want to use a different resume for each industry.
